Embla Rooftop Cinema

Embla Rooftop Cinema saw one of Melbourne’s most loved restaurants head upstairs for a season of classic films and incredible food.
The cinema featured a giant 5m screen playing classic movies, with each week’s film programming themed – think Music Week featuring films like Rocketman and Whiplash, Driving Week with Mad Max and Ford vs Ferrari, Back to School Week with The Breakfast Club and Ferris Bueller’s Day Off, Nicholas Cage Week, and Margot Robbie Week.
Embla’s pop-up rooftop kitchen served mouth-watering, elevated fare including crab served on fennel toast, raw kingfish with pumpkin seed miso, cucumber and cumquat – and of course their famously curated wines.
The rooftop cinema had a drained-pool Mediterranean vibe complete with yellow striped deck chairs, and quickly became a novel spot for cinema buffs looking to indulge their eyes and taste buds.
We worked with the awesome Embla team to produce the outdoor cinema, program the films, projection & tech, provided marketing expertise and management, and looked after the ticketing & comms.
