Neon Surfing
STRONGBOW WANTED TO CELEBRATE THE FIRST DAY OF SUMMER WITH AN IDEA THAT WOULD CAPTURE PEOPLE’S IMAGINATION.
So we came up with the world’s first ever mass night neon surf session.
We armed a local group of Bondi Beach surfers with our in-house designed and constructed neon surfboards and wetsuits, and sent them out to carve up the waves as invited press and VIPs looked on from a massive launch of Summer at Icebergs.
Legendary Endless Summer filmmaker Jack McCoy and Aquabumps’ Eugene Tan filmed and photographed the event, and within 12 hours of the stunt the video was edited and released online.
The branded video went viral and was the most watched YouTube video worldwide for two days.
The video reached 450,000+ YouTube views and was the most watched YouTube video worldwide for two days. The clip was run by every major news network in Australia and picked up internationally by CNN, CBS, BBC, News Corp and Reuters.
The stunt included a pyrotechnics display from a barge and a filming helicopter, and the success of the video surpassed our client's wildest dreams.
